Information For Authors

The Fari Journal of Social Sciences and Law is dedicated to promoting high-quality, ethical, and transparent scholarly publishing. This Publication Ethics for Authors policy outlines the expectations and responsibilities for authors submitting to the journal. Authors are expected to adhere to the highest standards of academic integrity throughout the submission, review, and publication process.

1. Originality and Plagiarism

  • Original Work: Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscript is an original work that has not been previously published or is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any overlap with previously published works must be appropriately cited.
  • Plagiarism: Plagiarism, in all its forms, including direct copying or paraphrasing of others' work without proper citation, is strictly prohibited. Authors must give proper credit to all sources, including direct quotations, ideas, and data.
  • Self-Plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of one’s own previous work without proper citation is considered self-plagiarism. Authors must clearly cite any previous publications if they reuse material from them in their current manuscript.

2. Authorship and Acknowledgment

  • Authorship Criteria: Authorship should be based on substantial intellectual contribution to the manuscript. Individuals who have made significant contributions to the research (such as the design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the data) should be included as authors.
  • Corresponding Author: The corresponding author is responsible for submitting the manuscript and ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the manuscript before submission.
  • Acknowledging Contributions: Individuals who have contributed to the work but do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section of the manuscript.
  • Honest and Transparent Contributions: Authors should ensure that all contributors to the research are acknowledged, and the journal expects complete transparency regarding the authors' roles and contributions to the study.

3. Ethical Research and Data Integrity

  • Research Ethics: Authors must adhere to ethical guidelines in the conduct of their research, particularly when involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data. Research involving human participants must have received ethical approval from an appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board (IRB).
  • Informed Consent: Authors conducting research involving human participants must ensure that informed consent has been obtained from all participants. The manuscript should include a statement confirming the informed consent process.
  • Data Accuracy: Authors must ensure that all data presented in the manuscript are accurate and truthfully represent the research findings. Any alterations or manipulations of data that distort the truth are unacceptable.
  • Replication: Authors are encouraged to provide enough detail on their research methodology to allow other researchers to replicate their work, ensuring transparency and reproducibility.

4. Conflict of Interest

  • Authors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect the objectivity or interpretation of the manuscript. This includes financial, personal, professional, or academic conflicts that might influence the research.
  • Conflict of Interest Declaration: Authors must include a statement of potential conflicts of interest in the manuscript at the time of submission. If no conflict exists, a statement such as "The authors declare no conflict of interest" should be provided.

5. Simultaneous Submission and Duplicate Publication

  • Simultaneous Submission: Authors must ensure that the manuscript has not been submitted simultaneously to other journals or publishers. The journal expects exclusivity during the submission and review process.
  • Duplicate Publication: Authors should not submit manuscripts that are substantially similar to works they have already published elsewhere, unless this is clearly stated and appropriately referenced in the current manuscript.

6. Review and Revisions

  • Peer Review Process: By submitting a manuscript to the Fari Journal of Social Sciences and Law, authors agree to participate in the double-blind peer review process. Authors should carefully consider and respond to feedback from reviewers, addressing the comments in a thorough and professional manner.
  • Revisions: Authors are expected to make necessary revisions to the manuscript based on the feedback provided by reviewers. If the authors disagree with any reviewer comments, they should provide a clear and justified response when resubmitting the manuscript.

7. Copyright and Licensing

  • Authors retain the copyright to their work but grant the Fari Journal of Social Sciences and Law a license to publish and distribute the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to select open access licenses, such as Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY), to ensure broader dissemination and reuse of their work.
  • Copyright Agreement: Upon acceptance, authors will be required to sign a copyright transfer or licensing agreement, which specifies the journal's rights to distribute and publish the article and outlines any conditions under which the article can be reused or republished.
  • Third-Party Materials: Authors must ensure that any third-party material (such as figures, tables, or other copyrighted content) included in their manuscript is used with proper permission and acknowledgment.

8. Retractions and Corrections

  • Retractions: If authors realize after publication that their research contains significant errors, they must inform the editorial team and request a retraction. A retraction notice will be issued explaining the reasons for withdrawing the article from publication.
  • Corrections: If minor errors are identified post-publication, authors may request corrections. The journal will issue a correction notice to update the published content. Corrections should be promptly submitted to avoid misleading readers.

9. Transparency and Accountability

  • Transparency: Authors are expected to maintain full transparency in reporting their research process, including their methodology, findings, and any limitations of the study. This ensures that their work can be properly evaluated and interpreted by others in the field.
  • Accountability: Authors are accountable for the entire content of the manuscript. They should ensure the accuracy of the research and ensure that all co-authors are aware of and agree with the content of the manuscript before submission.

10. Appeals Process

  • Authors who disagree with the editorial decision regarding their manuscript (e.g., rejection or revision) may appeal the decision by submitting a formal appeal to the editorial board. The appeal must provide clear reasons for challenging the decision.
  • The editorial team will review the appeal and provide a final decision based on the merit of the manuscript and the peer review process.

11. Policy Review and Updates

  • This Publication Ethics for Authors policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure that it reflects best practices in academic publishing and aligns with evolving ethical standards.
  • Any updates or changes to the policy will be communicated to authors, reviewers, and editors through the journal’s website and other communication channels.

By adhering to this Publication Ethics for Authors policy, the Fari Journal of Social Sciences and Law ensures that all research published in the journal is conducted and disseminated with integrity, accountability, and transparency. The policy helps maintain high academic standards and fosters trust within the research community.
